Lords of Rap Volume 1: Just da Tip by Hypenkrünk to be released 1.28.2014

Lords of Rap Volume 1: Just Da Tip is the debut release by Knoxville based rap and psychedelia group, Hypenkrünk. Though they use aliases for this project, Hypenkrünk is a collaboration between musicians from across the music spectrum. The players hail from the backgrounds of hip hop, (Flashmob, Flack Jacket) electronica, (Star Mountain), jazz (Deep Green) and prog rock (Obadiah).

The lyrics of vocalist, MC Realtree, are as prurient as they are suggestive and subliminal. Where in one moment, he may be rolling in the dirt with an animal nature and the lowest of brows, in the next he is proposing an evolution of the collective consciousness and sharing glimpses into other worlds.

These lyrics overlay a bed of music that is at times danceable, industrial, improvisational, irreverent, ambient, rigid, rocking, progressive, gangsta and dancehall. It could be comparable to a Nine Inch Nails album, produced by Nigel Godrich and Dan the Automator, featuring 2 Live Crew in one ear and Outkast in the other…or maybe Sage Francis.

This is the twentieth release from the El Deth recording label. Get it online and in limited hard form on January 28th, 2014.
