This version of “Cute Little Echo” is from the immediately aforementioned Pilot Light Rehearsal session. The video was recorded the day after Moogfest 2011 in Asheville, North Carolina. Hence the clipping of the wrist bands, and also Tapeface, my carefully crafted Halloween costume.

I feel this video gives insight into Tapeface’s real life. Just because he has tape on his face, doesn’t mean he doesn’t practice good hygiene. It does apparently make him emotional, though.

“Cute Little Echo” by Never Sorry

Here is another clip from the footage taken by Maurita Roman at Le Carnival des Autres from back in May. This one is not as consistently strong as “Until I Die (Rum Blues)” was, but it’s the only other complete video of an entire song – or a two song sequence in this case.

So yeah. It’s a somewhat frantic push of “Michael in the War,” segueing into John Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance.” And of course, I never know the verses. Just the chorus.

This weekend, Never Sorry played a crossdressed acoustic set at Le Carnival des Autres at 1010 Gallery in Knoxville.  In this video, we are joined by Lulu Skidoo (aka Michelle Sanders) for this performance of “Until I Die (Rum Blues).”  She wrote these lyrics.  Myself and Megan Driscoll fleshed out the music.  Then, obviously, everyone else together brought it into form.

This video was filmed by Maurita Roman. I have at least one more good recorded excerpt from the show and it will likely get posted soon.  For now though…

Here is some video filmed by Tara Williams back in August at the first and, so far, only set performed live and public by Never Sorry. The song is “Family Affairs.” There is a false start at the beginning and the video is a tad grainy…but you get the point.

It was a Sunday and a light dust of snow had fallen.  Eventually it got pretty thick in the night, but this daytime onset was pleasant.  We had already had this song called “Free Day,” recorded on the We Are in Love session.  I thought it all worked together.  Here where snow is rare, such days often do become free days.  This tends to be less true, the older we get.

I can be kind of awkward on camera.  I figured the video needed shots of someone and I was the only one there so…you know.  I just don’t know how I feel about looking directly into a camera.

Yay!  The band has a video!

This song and the video were recorded on 12.1.10 at a session that only included myself, Katie Collins and Megan Driscoll.  It’s cover of the NWA song, “Automobile,” (as they reformed from the original by Parliament) from their highly misogynistic, but wonderfully produced Niggaz4Life .  It’s different than the version we did in the last session.  That one was rockin’.  This one is more chilled out and electro.

Lots of offensive language on this.  Again, I’m no fan of standard camp.  But this isn’t camp…these are gangstas!  They mean it!

“Automobile” – Never Sorry

This song has been getting a lot of activity and restructuring since we first introduced it during the depression session.  Obviously, I felt inclined to record myself performing it acoustically, while draped in blue garb and sitting in a blue room.  How…novel…

I also used strobe  lights and shit.  You gotta admit – it’s gotta be slightly more interesting than it would have been had I just sat stone faced in front of the camera and played the song.

I am so incredibly glad to be making videos again.  It has literally been years.

So this one is for an instrumental remix I did for a song by The Mattoid.  If you don’t know the Mattoid, you are doing yourself an immense disservice and should check out his Myspace page as soon as you watch this video.  Also, if you’d like to check out the original, be my guest.  It’s on his Eternifinity EP.

The structure may also be familiar to some from my days with Flashmob, as we used this beat for the song, Dirtnap.

Thursday used to be the new Friday. Now Friday is Friday again. Like a foolish fool, I have been sleeping through my Fridays habitually and consistently. I absolutely need to break this habit. I missed some really good stuff last night.

In any case, I always end up waking up right around 3AM. This morning was no different. Having felt pretty shitty for missing the night’s fun, I decided not to waste the rest of it. Plus my emotive and creative faculties were running pretty high. So this video is basically a partial document of what I did when I awoke.

I know it’s nothing particularly interesting, and also that it could stand for a bit less talk and a bit more rock. Bare with me though. I wanted to make sure my video making and uploading process was solid. Since I now know it is (thanks to this video), you perhaps should be able to expect more videos to come.

I made this video a few years back and the song years before that.  It’s been on YouTube for a while, slowly gaining viewers without quite cracking that viral threshold.

Obviously, the whole thing revolves around 50 Cent and j-pop mashed together.  In particular, schoolgirl pop, Morning Musume.  This holds predominantly true for the video.  The song, in addition to containing Morning Musume and Shiina Ringo samples, additionally borrows from Weezer and Wilco covering Steely Dan.

My favorite thing about this video is that Universal Music saw it and had deliberations as to whether or not it would be taken down.  In the end, they let me keep it up.  Thanks, Universal Music!
